Why the left is wrong…

Over on the usually sensible Harry’s Place, a post has appeared bemoaning the fact that our government can’t freeze alleged terrorist suspect’s assets at will because they didn’t bother with that inconvenient process of having a law passed by Parliament.  Socialists ALWAYS have a soft spot for the State seizing people’s assets, so this wasn’t a surprise. I chose to comment, based on the rule of law and the legal convention that the Queen in Parliament is Sovereign.

It’s good news for the rule of (secular) law. The law that requires legislation to go, y’know, through the Parliamentary process and not merely trying to spring into existence through non-debated secondary regulations.

It’s only the Righteous who want to focus on the ends rather than the means and frankly, you don’t defeat theocratic facists by stealing their methods. Sorry about that.
